Box Score

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.- The Georgia College Soccer Team (8-9) took a tough first round 3-2 loss at Flagler College (13-2-1) Sunday night to close out the 2021 season.

The Bobcats scored the first goal of the game in the first seven minutes and took the 1-0 lead into halftime over the back-to-back Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament champs.

The Saints fired back in the second half, scoring three goals in the first fifteen minutes to get in front.

The first Flagler goal was an unassisted score off the foot of Andrea Fernandez in the 53rd minute of play. The next was a header from Annie Habeeb on the assist from Fernandez in the 58th minute. The final goal was from Fernandez once again, this time with the assist from Habeeb into the lower right corner.

The first Bobcat goal was scored by Alexis Bergamini (West Suffield, Connecticut) in the seventh minute of the match. Alexis scored on the assist from twin sister Alyssa Bergamini (West Suffield, Connecticut). Alyssa possessed the ball after the Bobcat throw in to cross to Alexis who then burned the right back for the goal. The Bergaminis took all of the shots on the night for GC as Alexis had five with one resulting in a goal. Alyssa had three shots on the night all of which were on goal.

The next goal for GC came on a Flagler own goal. Cassie Balzano (Douglasville, Georgia) went for the cross to Alyssa when the Saints defender interfered and the ball hit off her head into the goal this came at the 67th minute, but the Bobcats couldn't don't the equalizer.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kate Richardson (Marietta, Georgia) had six saves on the night with nine shots rifled at her. She had several diving saves where she prevented several close range Saints shots.

The Bobcats see the 2021 campaign come to a close as recording the best season record since bringing in head coach Tinna Gallagher. Senior Balzano highlighted the season with 10 goals including the 30th of her career.
