MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. –  The Georgia College Men's Basketball team (8-2, 8-2 PBC) extended its win streak to seven with a 75-67 victory over Georgia Southwestern State University (9-4, 7-4 PBC) Saturday in the Centennial Center.

The victory was a measure of revenge for GC, as the most recent Bobcat loss came at GSW Jan. 13, coming just prior to the seven-game win stretch.

The Bobcats got another impressive night from senior Jordan Thomas (Conyers) as the guard poured in 23 points to lead all scorers. Thomas did most of his damage up close, slashing through the defense for multiple acrobatic layups and finishing 10-of-18 from the floor, adding four steals.

Senior Kohl Roberts (Atlanta) added a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double, the third-straight double-dip for the big man. Junior Wesley Simpson (DeLand, Florida/Union Grove HS [Ga.]) tallied 14 points, including 7-for-8 from the free-throw line.

After GSW scored in their first two possessions, taking a 4-0 lead, the Bobcats rallied, getting in front 5-4 on a three-pointer from Christian Koneman (Chatsworth) as part of an 11-0 run. GC never trailed from that point, and lead by as much as 15 with a 30-15 advantage a the 5:23 mark in the first.

The Hurricanes had a strong second half, including making a one-possession game at 70-67 with under four minutes to go. The Bobcats tightened the defensive clamps from there, not allowing GSW any points for the final 3:23 of the game. Koneman finished with nine points and eight boards.

The Bobcats out-shot GSW 50 percent (27-54) to 41 percent (25-61) from the floor. GC controlled things up close, leading 46-24 in points in the paint.

Seven straight wins in the longest streak for GC Men's Basketball since the 2009-10 season, where the Bobcats took 12 in a row. Roberts now has 1,132 career points, passing Tim Jones (1997) in today's action to take 14th in school history.

The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m., traveling to Young Harris College. No spectators are allowed at Wednesday's game, fans can follow live streaming at GCBobcats.com.
