Box Score 2 ORANGEBURG, S.C.- The Georgia College Baseball team (3-0, 3-0 PBC) completed a series sweep Saturday by taking both games of a doubleheader at Claflin University (1-7, 1-7 PBC) 10-3 and 12-1.
Game one saw the Bobcats rattle off 10 hits and take advantage of seven Claflin walks.
Tied up 1-1 heading into the fourth, the Bobcats jumped in front with a four-run inning, scoring on a fielder's choice, a wild pitch, a sacrifice fly and a wild pitch. The Bobcats ran away with it from there.
Third baseman Noah Mendlinger (Alpharetta, Georgia) was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two doubles. Catcher Austin Holloway (Social Circle, Georgia) added a pair of hits in five trips, scoring twice and driving in another.
Junior righty Connor Darling (Suwanee, Georgia) nabbed a win in his first outing this season, spinning the first six innings and allowing three runs, fanning five. Lefty Bryce Bowen (Bowman, Georgia) threw the seventh and eighth with no hits and four strikeouts, turning it over to Mendlinger for a scoreless ninth.
In game two the Bobcats jumped out early, scoring in the first three innings for an 8-0 lead. GC got home runs from Cal Gentry (Perry, Georgia), Matt White (Lakeland, Georgia) and Hunter Hice (Adairsville, Georgia) in game two.
Gentry finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs, while White was 2-for-3 with three runs scored. Hice drove in three with his home run in the third.
Righty Josh Hudgins (Dunwoody, Georgia) was near lights-out, scattering a pair of hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings. Hudgins fanned eight before turning the game over to Bryson Smeltzer (Savannah, Georgia) to finish it off.
