Box Score Young Harris, Ga.- The Georgia College Volleyball Team (1-1) took down Young Harris College (0-2) in three sets Friday night on the road.
The Bobcats took all three sets at 25-10, 25-11 and 25-17. GC won every set by at least an eight-point margin.
"Tonight was a total team effort," said head coach Gretchen Krumdieck. "We had solid passing from our back row and could run a very effective offense. We had a great night at the net and our block was key. I'm very proud of how consistent our team played tonight."
This matchup was definitely a team effort, with junior Lauren Talele (Woodstock) running the offense and posting 24 assists.
The volleyball squad had three players with seven kills, which led the team in the matchup. Senior Libby Bochniak (Marietta) is credited with seven kills, five digs, a serving ace and a team high of 8.5 points. Bochniak had a .316 kill percentage in three sets. Sophomore Sarah Stewart (Savannah) also had seven kills on the day. Stewart also hit .375 and added five digs. The final player to have seven kills in three sets was freshman Callie Miller (Acworth). Miller had a .545 attack percentage and tied fellow teammate Bochniak with 8.5 points.
The senior libero Jordyn Moellering (Cumming) led the defense for the Bobcats with 16 in her three sets of action.
The Bobcats are back in action tomorrow, March 13 at 3 p.m. on the road to take on Lander University. Live stats and a live stream of the game will be available at GCBobcats.com
