Box Score 2 COLUMBUS, Ga.- The Georgia College Softball team (4-14, 0-4 PBC) took two-run rule losses on the road at Columbus State University (12-8, 2-2 PBC) Sunday.
Game one of the doubleheader yielded a single run for the Bobcats, coming from a squeeze play from sophomore Samantha Vinson (Jefferson), scoring teammate MacKenzie Hoffman (Rocky Face). Hoffman led off the first inning with a single to left and scored the lone run.
Holly Phillips (Macon) got the game one start and was credited with the loss giving her a 1-3 record on the season. Phillips allowed four earned runs on six hits.
The second game of the day yielded the same amount of offence for GC, scoring one run. The lone score came in on a home run by the relief pitcher Golden Thrower (Hannahan, South Carolina), the first in the Bobcat freshman's career.
Ally Black (Norris City, Illinois) got the start and the loss for the Bobcats giving her a record of 1-1. Black gave up four earned runs on three hits.
