YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — The Georgia College Soccer team (1-5) lost a tough contest, falling to Peach Belt Conference (PBC) opponent Young Harris College (4-3) in a defensive battle, 1-0.
The lone goal for the for Young Harris came in right the second half when Aimee Durn snuck a 72nd minute shot into the low left corner after facing 1v1 with the Bobcat goalkeeper.
Offensively, Georgia College led the game in shots including a total of seven on goal. Caroline Tully (Marietta) and Summer Ligon (Carrollton) both had close strikes that hit the crossbar. Senior Cassie Balzano (Douglasville) was thwarted on a couple of solid chances as well, one coming off a well-timed cross from Alexis Bergamini (West Suffield, Connecticut) and another on a header, saved by a YHC defender on the goalline.
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, March 24 at 6 p.m., hosting Lander University. The location for next week's contest is unclear at this time, stay tuned to GCBobcats.com for more details when they arise.
