Box Score CARROLLTON, Ga. - The Georgia College Baseball team (11-6) had trouble controlling the University of West Georgia (10-10) offense Wednesday, the Bobcats falling 13-7 on the road.
The Bobcats started off hot, leading 4-0 in the middle of the third. Third baseman Noah Mendlinger (Alpharetta) provided a two-run single in the first to get GC started, and designated hitter Baylin Moore (Albany) added an RBI double.
He game was decided in the 4-5-6 innings, as the Wolves out-scored GC 10-0 over that stretch.
The Bobcat outfield went a combined 6-for-12 (.500) with an RBI and four runs scored. Leftfielder Jay Saunders (Moultrie) finished 2-for-3 with a pair of singles, driving in one and scoring another. Rightfielder Paul Grazzini (Marietta) had two hits in four trips, scoring once, and centerfielder Cam Hill (Marietta) was 2-for-5 with two runs.
GC threw six arms at the Wolves, surrendering 12 hits, 13 runs and walking five. Reliever Kole Newman (Savannah) took the loss (0-1) in an inning of work.
The Bobcats are back in action Friday, March 26 at 6 p.m., traveling to Young Harris College. The Mountain Lions are allowing visiting fans this season.
