Box Score YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Georgia College Baseball team (11-9, 10-8 PBC) was edged at Young Harris College (14-7, 13-5 PBC) 8-6 Saturday.
The Bobcats led 3-1 in the middle of the fifth, but a four-run bottom half for the Mountain Lions helped them jump in front.
GC got runs in the sixth, eighth and ninth, but couldn't inch any closer. The Bobcats had the go-ahead run at the plate when the game came to a close.
First baseman Brandon Bellflower (Milledgeville) went 3-for-4, driving in two. Centerfielder Cam Hill (Marietta) had two hits in four trips, including a double. He scored two runs.
Rightfielder Baylin Moore (Albany) was 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI, while third baseman Noah Mendlinger (Alpharetta) added two hit in five trips as well, plating a run. Designated hitter Matt White (Lakeland) led off the sixth with a solo home run, the second for White this season.
Lefty starter Jacob Hester (Marietta) took the loss, falling to 0-1 with 5 2/3 innings of work.
The Bobcats are back in action Tuesday, March 30 at 4 p.m., playing host to the University of West Georgia. Fans are allowed at John Kurtz Field, with limited seating available, social distancing and masks are required.
