MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. –  The No. 8 Georgia College Baseball squad (8-2, 7-2 PBC) split a doubleheader with USC Aiken (5-7, 5-7 PBC) Saturday, taking the first game 11-6 and falling in game two 10-7. With the split and yesterday's win, the Bobcats took the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) series 2-1.

In game one, GC jumped up early with a four-run first, the big blow being a two-run double from designated hitter Baylin Moore (Albany). GC led 6-0 after four, but USCA cut the lead in half in the fifth. The Bobcats kept answering every attempt the Pacers tried to get back in the contest, keeping them at arm's length to finish off the 11-6 win.

Centerfielder Cam Hill (Marietta) was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs. Moore finished 2-for-4 plating a pair.

Righty starter Josh Hudgins (Dunwoody) improved to 2-0 with six innings of work, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks. Hudgins struck out nine over those six frames.

In game two, the Bobcats led 3-0 heading into the sixth, including solo home runs from both rightfielder Paul Grazzini (Marietta) and shortstop Cassius Young (Atlanta). USCA tallied three runs each in the sixth, seventh and eighth to take over the game 10-3. A four-run rally in the ninth came up short, as the Bobcats ended the game with the tying run on deck.

Young finished 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Grazzini added two hits in five trips. First baseman Ben Tuten (Bristol) was a big part of that ninth-inning rally tagging a bases-clearing double to right center for three of the four runs.

Lefty Bryce Bowen (Bowman) took the loss (0-1) in 5 2/3 innings of work, allowing just two earned runs. The six Bobcat pitchers combined for 11 walks and the defense committed four errors to help the Pacer offense.

The Bobcats are back in action Friday, March 12 at 6 p.m., traveling to UNC Pembroke.
