Box Score
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A complete-game from sophomore Josh Hudgins (Dunwoody, Georgia) was just what the Georgia College Baseball team (16-15, 14-13 PBC) needed Friday night, topping Flagler College (8-19, 7-14 PBC) 7-3 on the road.
Hudgins (4-3) was outstanding, shutting out the Saints until the eighth inning. It took until the seventh inning before a Flagler batter touched second base. Hudgins finished with nine innings, scattering six hits and a walk for three runs. He fanned eight, and really made just one mistake, a three-run home run in the eighth for Jake Kaufman. The last time a Bobcat pitcher had a complete game was Bradly Cammack (2019) in the 2018 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championship win over USC Aiken.
The Bobcats got a four-run fourth to take command of the game, taking care of some defensive miscues for their success. Of the seven runs the Bobcats scored, just four were earned.
Centerfielder Cam Hill (Marietta, Georgia) was 2-for-2 with an RBI coming on a fourth-inning sac fly. Catcher Austin Holloway (Social Circle, Georgia) finished 2-for-5 with a run and two RBI. He plated his first run with an infield single in the fourth, and his second with another single in the fifth.
The Bobcats finish the series with the Saints in a doubleheader tomorrow, April 17 at 1 p.m.
