MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- The Georgia College softball team (10-24, 4-14 PBC) split the final home series with USC Aiken (6-14, 6-12 PBC) Sunday at the Peeler Complex. 

The Bobcats were only able to plate two runs against the Pacers pitcher Caroline Cockrell in game one. GC scored both of their runs in the first inning off a double and a single. Freshman MacKenzie Hoffman (Rocky Face) reached on a walk to start the bottom of the first. Hoffman used her wheels to snag second to set up teammate Lauren Sommerer (Loganville) for the RBI double to the left side. Freshman Samantha Vinson (Jefferson) plated Sommerer on a single to the left side. 

Sommerer had the lone multibase hit for GC in game one and went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Vinson had the other RBI and went 1-for-3 as well. 

The pitching duties for game one were handled by MacKenzie Michels (Lilburn). Michels (4-11) had one strikeout and allowed eight earned runs on 12 hits. 

Game two of the doubleheader went to the Bobcats for the final home game of the season. GC was down the whole game but then plated all four runs in the sixth inning for the come-from-behind win. Kelsey Schell (Cumming) came in to pinch hit and recorded an infield single to start the rally for the Bobcats. 

Katelyn Hobbs (Thomasville) was subbed back in and was able to reach third via the Vinson single and a throwing error by the Pacer third baseman. Hobbs came in to score on a centerfield single from Sadie Waters (Cumming). Hoffman put a bunt down for a single to load the bases which set up the two-run double off the bat of Brooke Lougher (Suwanee). Howell came to the plate and got a sacrifice fly to score Hoffman for the final run of the game. 

Vinson went 2-for-3 in game two. Waters ended game two going 2-for-3 with an RBI. 

The Pitching duties were done by Golden Thrower (Hanahan, South Carolina). Thrower (3-9) fanned two batters and only allowed two earned runs on seven hits with a complete-game victory. She surrendered a solo home run in the first and a run-scoring single in the fifth, but was otherwise sharp, setting the Pacers down in order in the second and fourth.
