Box Score 2 ORLANDO, Fla. – The Georgia College Volleyball team (3-6) lost two matches to close out the Rollins Invitational Saturday, falling in straight sets to both Florida Southern College (3-0) and Newberry College (3-2).
In the morning matchup, the Bobcats dropped straight sets to Florida Southern 25-14, 25-11 and 29-27.
The Bobcat offense was handcuffed a bit, held without a double-digit attacker. Ally Hall (Cumming, Georgia) and Sarah Stewart (Savannah, Georgia) held the team lead with eight kills each.
Stewart added 13 digs, only topped on the squad by Lauren Talele (Woodstock, Georgia) at 16. The latter of the pair had a double-double, adding 16 assists. Bella DeSalvo (Hamilton, Ohio) contributed 10 digs to the cause.
In the afternoon, the set scores were 25-22, 25-19 and 25-18 in Newberry's favor.
Hall poured in 13 kills against the Wolves to lead the attack, hitting a strong .273. Talele recorded 21 assists, and DeSalvo brought in 15 digs.
The Bobcats are back in action Thursday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m., playing host to the University of Montevallo.
