MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – In their second-straight four-set battle, the Georgia College Volleyball team (3-8) fell to Valdosta State University (5-5) Friday in day two of the Peach Belt/Gulf South Crossover at the Centennial Center.
The Bobcats dug a hole, dropping the first two sets 25-22 and 25-18. GC attempted a claw back into things with a 25-21 win in set three-including a 10-2 run in the early going-but the Blazers closed it out with another 25-22 effort.
Sarah Stewart (Savannah) posted an impressive 14-kill, 20-dig double-double. She was flanked by 11 kills from freshman Callie Miller (Acworth).
Setter Lauren Talele (Woodstock) added her second-straight double-double adding 34 assists and 12 digs. Freshman Bella DeSalvo (Hamilton, Ohio) posted a team-best 26 digs.
GC Volleyball is back in action tomorrow, Sept. 18 at 3 p.m., hosting the University of West Alabama to close out the PBC/GSC Crossover.
