MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Volleyball team (4-9, 0-1 PBC) started conference play with a loss Friday night in four sets to defending Peach Belt Champion Augusta University (10-3, 1-0 PBC) at the Centennial Center.

The Bobcats started slow, dropping set one 25-15. After a 25-19 set put their backs against the wall, GC responded with a 25-20 win in set three. Augusta started set four on a 11-1 run and never relented, closing the match 25-12.

Freshman Ally Hall (Cumming) led the attack with eight kills, aided by seven each from seniors Sarah Mangan (Farmingville, New York) and Sarah Stewart (Savannah).

Classmate Lauren Talele (Woodstock) came a dig away from her fourth-straight double-double, tallying 26 assists and nine digs.

Sophomore Bella DeSalvo (Hamilton, Ohio) and junior Emily Long (Mooresville, North Carolina) shared the team lead with 14 digs. Hall added 13 and Stewart 12.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Sept. 25 at 3 p.m., playing host to USC Aiken.
