MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Volleyball team (4-10, 0-2 PBC) lost in three sets to Peach Belt Conference (PBC) leader USC Aiken (12-1, 2-0 PBC) Saturday at the Centennial Center.
The Bobcats took the fight to the Pacers in set one, going to extra points in a 29-27 loss. Set two was also close, a 25-23 effort. Set three closed things out, 25-16.
Graduate student Sarah Stewart (Savannah) pounded out 11 kills with a strong .235 hitting percentage, bringing up a team-high 13 digs as well for her fifth double-double of the season.
Senior Sarah Mangan (Farmingville, New York) paced the Bobcats with seven blocks, adding six kills to the cause. Classmate Lauren Talele (Woodstock) ran the offense with 30 assists. The defense was led by Stewart with 13 digs, flanked by 11 from sophomore Bella DeSalvo (Hamilton, Ohio).
The Bobcats are back in action Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m., playing host to Emmanuel College.
