MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Volleyball squad (5-10) used a pair of record-tying performances to top Emmanuel College (4-9) in four sets Tuesday at the Centennial Center.

The Bobcats took the first set 25-18, then the Lions responded with a 25-19 effort in set two to even it out. GC then closed it out with a tight 25-23 win in set three and a 25-20 set four.

GC's front line put forth record-setting performances, as the Bobcats tied the single game records in blocks for a team and an individual. The Bobcats tallied 17 blocks as a squad, tying the school record set in 2019 against Francis Marion University. Sophomore Mary Kate Kotzin (Dunwoody) had 10 total blocks, tying the single-match GC record, set by Bailey Freeman (2015) against GRU Augusta in 2014.

Graduate student Sarah Stewart (Savannah) finished with a match-high 18 kills, hitting a strong .313. She added 13 digs for her sixth double-double of the season. Freshman Ally Hall (Cumming) added 10 kills and 16 digs for her third double-double of the year.

Senior setter Lauren Talele (Woodstock) ran the offense well with 39 assists, adding six kills and eight digs. Sophomore Bella DeSalvo (Hamilton, Ohio) led the squad with 22 digs.

Stewart finished the match with 21 points, giving the graduate student 558.5 in her career and passing Kayla Brockway (2018) for eighth in school history.

The Bobcats are back in action Friday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m., returning to conference play by hosting Lander University.
