Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, GA.- The Georgia College soccer team (1-0) dominated in their season-opening match, scoring four goals against Spring Hill College (0-1).
The Bobcats scored twice in the first half and didn't stop there, adding two more in the second half.
The first goal came from freshman Morgan Amrozowicz (Dacula) in the 37th minute of the match. Amrozowicz was fresh off the bench when Becca Morris (Marietta) set her up to score from the left wing.
In the 41st minute, the Bobcats extended their lead after a Spring Hill own goal. GC took possession on a corner kick that bounced off several players before the ball reached the back of the net.
The Bobcats struck again in the 60th minute when Cassie Balzano (Douglasville) netted her 25th career goal. Freshman Aralyn Everett (Covington) picked up her first career assist on the play. Balzano launched 10 shots on the night.
The team's final score was a big one for junior Elle Watson (Newnan), who recorded her first career goal. Watson found the back of the net in the 90th minute following a pass from Alyssa Bergamini (West Suffield, Connecticut).
The GC defense was spectacular, recording a clean sheet and holding the Badgers to two shots in 90 minutes. Both the shots were on goal, and goalkeeper Kate Richardson (Marietta) picked up two saves.
Bobcat Soccer is back in action for day two of the Bobcat Kickoff Classic on Monday, September 6 at 1:30 p.m. against Anderson University.
