GREENWOOD, S.C. – Using a second half nearly twice as potent as the first, the Georgia College Men's Basketball team (15-3, 7-2 PBC) extended its win streak to three, topping Lander University (9-9, 4-5 PBC) 69-46 on the road Wednesday night. The Bobcats are the first Peach Belt Conference (PBC) team to 15 wins this season.

The two teams locked horns early, and were tied as late as the 4:15 mark in the first half at 16-16. A small surge into the half gave GC a 26-21 advantage at the break, but the Bobcats scored 43 points in the second frame to pull away from Lander on the road.

The Bobcats got amazing balance in the second half, as eight different players scored and seven had five or more points. The dynamic backcourt duo of Wesley Simpson (DeLand, Florida/Union Grove HS [Ga.]) and Jordan Thomas (Conyers, Georgia) netted eight points each in the second half.

Thomas shared the team lead overall with both Chris Parks (Buford, Georgia) and Luke Chism (Dawsonville, Georgia) as each Bobcat netted 12 points. Parks added five rebounds, while Chism yanked down six with three assists. Thomas had four boards and a team-high five assists.

Simpson finished with 10 points and five boards, while Christian Koneman (Chatsworth, Georgia) gave the Bobcats five scorers in double digits with a 10-point, six rebound effort.

Thomas knocked down a pair of threes, giving the senior 282 in his career. That mark ties him for third in PBC history in three-pointers made with Gary Boodnikoff (2002) of Augusta University. Thomas' five assists give him 284 in his career, tying Darrell Flowers (1992) for seventh in school history.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Jan. 29 at 3:30 p.m., traveling to Columbus State University.
