ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Georgia College Baseball team (3-5) fell victim to an Eckerd College (4-2) rally in the ninth, the Bobcats falling 5-4 on the road Sunday.

GC led 4-1 heading into the ninth, but Eckerd wouldn't go away quietly. The Tritons rattled off four runs on four hits and three costly walks in the frame to escape with the win.

The late Triton heroics overshadowed a great start from Brennan Crooms (Metter, Georgia). The junior righty tossed five innings and struck out seven Triton batters, allowing just a single run on four hits and a walk. Freshman lefty Mason Brown (Lilburn, Georgia) took the loss (0-2), but wasn't touched until the ninth in his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Second baseman Austin Holloway (Social Circle, Georgia) continued his early-season tear, going 2-for-4 with a double and a run. Holloway has three multi-hit games in the eight contests thus far for the Bobcats. Leftfielder Baylin Moore (Albany, Georgia) tagged the first home run of the young season for GC, a solo blast to center in the fourth.

The Bobcats took a lead in the top of the first, started by a two-run double off the bat of first baseman Mason Spivey (Appling, Georgia).

The Bobcats are back in action Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 4 p.m., playing host to Shorter University.
