MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- The Georgia College Softball Team (8-10) takes two wins over Shorter University (4-14, 1-5 GSC) Tuesday, 3-1 and 5-3.

There was only one Bobcat in the game one lineup with multiple hits in Shea Zweifel (Ormond Beach, Florida). Zweifel had two singles and two of the three RBIs recorded by the Bobcats. The other RBI came off the bat of Sydney Newberry (Springfield) on a sacrifice fly to center. Freshman Divina Checo (Marietta) had the only multi-base hit of the first contest with a double to centerfield. Checo also nabbed a stolen base along with Brooke Lougher (Suwanee) and MacKenzie Martin (Dacula)

Macy Banks (Homer) got the start and the win (3-3) in the circle for the Bobcats. Banks had a phenomenal game allowing only one earned run on one hit. Banks had her second-best strikeout game of the season with five.

The second contest of the day had the Bobcat bats hot with five runs scored on 10 hits. GC had one big inning where four runs came across the plate on just one hit. Zweifel rifled one over the left-center fence for her first grand slam at GC. The bases got loaded up as three Bobcats reached via the free pass. Martin had an outstanding offensive performance in game two, going 3-for-3 with three singles. Newberry continued on her hot streak going 2-for-3. Checo also had a good offensive performance hitting .500 with a pair of singles and coming around to score.

Montana Ledbetter (Hanna City, Illinois) got the start in the circle in game number two. Ledbetter (3-3) allowed zero earned runs on three hits in her 3.2 innings of work. She also utilized her riseball and drop-curve to fan five batters. Golden Thrower (Hanahan, South Carolina) got the relief effort after an injury to Ledbetter. Thrower got the save pitching 3.1 innings and allowing one earned run on four hits.
