MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Baseball team (10-9, 1-3 PBC) picked up its first Peach Belt Conference (PBC) victory this season in convincing fashion, finishing Lander University (9-10, 1-3 PBC) by run-rule in eight innings, 12-2 Saturday at John Kurtz Field.

The Bobcats used two big innings to control the contest, combined with another great start from Josh Hudgins (Dunwoody) on the mound. GC had a four-run fourth, and then plated six in the eighth to walk-off.

Both Mason Spivey (Appling) and Paul Grazzini (Marietta) provided run-scoring doubles in the fourth. Grazzini doubled home two more in the eighth, and Sam Sly (Atlanta) drove in two runs with a single as well in that final inning.

Grazzini finished 3-for-4 with the two doubles, driving in three and scoring once. Sly was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs. Dominic Arienzo (Madison) also had a 2-for-3 game with two runs and an RBI.

Hudgins (2-1) had his second complete game of the year, allowing just two runs on five hits and no walks. He struck out four Bearcats.

The Bobcats and Bearcats finish the three-game series with a doubleheader tomorrow, March 13 starting at 1 p.m.
