Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Baseball Team (16-9) used a power surge to get past Southern Wesleyan University (6-20) Tuesday. The Bobcats moved a win streak to seven with a 11-6 victory at John Kurtz Field.
The Bobcats got three home runs, a grand slam from KC Brown (Savannah) in the first, a solo shot from Brandon Bellflower (Milledgeville) in the sixth and another solo blast from Baylin Moore (Albany) in the seventh.
Down 6-4 after five, Bellflower cut the lead in half with his home run, his fourth this season and sixth in his career.
The Bobcats tied the game with a passed ball in the seventh, then took the lead on Moore's moonshot to right. Moore also has four this season and five now in his career.
GC got the insurance it needed in the eighth, with run-scoring singles from both Cam Hill (Marietta) and Brown.
Brown finished 3-for-4 with six RBIs, including the grand slam. That round-tripper was his third this year and seventh at GC. He has home runs in three of his last five games.
Moore finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs. Bellflower had a 3-for-5 day with the RBI and run, and shortstop Dominic Arienzo (Madison) was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run. The Bobcats pounded out 12 hits on the day.
Lefty Jacob Hester (Marietta) got the win in relief. Hester (2-1) tossed two scoreless innings, stranding a pair of hits.
The Bobcats are back in action Friday, March 25 at 6 p.m., traveling to the University of North Georgia.
