GREENWOOD, S.C.- The Georgia College Softball Team (8-13, 0-3 PBC) finished the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) opening series taking two run-rule losses at Lander University (19-2, 3-0 PBC), Saturday.
The Bobcat offense had three hits in the first game of the doubleheader coming from three different hitters. Designated player Shea Zweifel (Ormond Beach, Florida) came across for the lone run of the game, finishing 1-for-2. Eliza Kuhne (Sharpsburg, Georgia) claimed the only RBI for GC via a fielder's choice.
Montana Ledbetter (Hanna City, Illinois) got the start and the loss (3-4) in the circle for GC as she was unable to escape the first inning.
The Bobcat offense was one-hit in game two by a pair of Lander pitchers. Senior Carlie Behan (Cumming, Georgia) had that hit, a single in the fifth.
Macy Banks (Homer, Georgia) got the start and the loss (3-4) in the circle for game two, allowing three earned runs on six hits in four innings. Banks struck out five batters in four innings and walked three.
The Bobcats are back in action Friday, March 11 at the Peeler Complex to kick off home conference play against Young Harris College. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. with live stats and broadcast links available at GCBobcats.com.
