VALDOSTA, Ga.- Georgia College & State University Soccer (0-2-1) took a 2-0 loss to Valdosta State University (1-0) on Thursday.
Despite not being able to reach the back netting the Bobcats were able to rifle off five shots on a tough Blazer defense. Freshman Sarah Mason (Atlanta) led the offense with two shots including one on goal. Anna Claire Smith (Evans) had the only other shot on goal. As the game progressed the offense got more comfortable shooting as they went from one shot in the first half to four in the second half.
Senior goalkeeper Kate Richardson (Marietta) had another seven save game as she saved all but two shots. The first goal came in the 32nd minute of the contest with the second coming in the 52nd.
The Bobcats are back in action for the home opener Saturday, Sept. 3 to take on The University of Auburn at Montgomery (0-2). Kick off is set for 4 p.m. with free admission for students. Live stats and broadcast links will be available at GCBobcats.com
