Bobcat Soccer Takes Tough Road Loss to UWG

Box Score

By: Bailey Clark, Sports Information Graduate Assistant

CARROLLTON, Ga.- Georgia College & State University Soccer (1-3-1) took a tough 1-0 loss against the University of West Georgia (2-2), Wednesday night.

The Bobcats dominated time of possession throughout the game as they were able to keep the ball in the midfield and at the feet of the offense. GCSU had 12 shots with six in each half. Taylor Salvaggio (Bethlehem) had the lone shot on goal for the blue and green. There were 10 corner kicks awarded to the Bobcats as they were aggressive on the Wolves' side of the field.

The defense did a great job of keeping the ball in bounds and limiting UWG to only three corner kicks. The defense also put pressure on the opposing offense by holding them to five total shots with two on goal. Unfortunately for GCSU one of the shots on goal reached the back netting in the second half to give the Wolves the 1-0 win.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Sept. 10 at Young Harris College (0-4) for the first conference game of the season. Kick off is set for 4 p.m. with live stats and broadcast links available at GCBobcats.com.
