Bobcat Men's Hoops Take Down Clayton State for Homecoming Victory, 71-68

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- Georgia College & State University Men's Basketball (8-17, 4-12 PBC) brings home a close 71-68 win for homecoming against Clayton State University (3-23, 1-15 PBC), Saturday. 

The Lakers struck first with two field goals, which the Bobcats countered with two of their own. The lead went back and forth for most of the first half until GCSU took the six-point lead with less than four minutes to go in the half. Going into halftime the Bobcats maintained the six-point lead on top of CSU 40-34. The lead was exchanged through the second and the Bobcats were able to capture the 71-68 win to cap off homecoming Saturday. 

Brendan Rigsbee (Suwanee) led the scoring with an outstanding 24-point game. He knocked down five field goals including going 3-for-4 from behind the arc. Rigsbee also banked almost half of his points from the free-throw line going 11-for-12. Ian Davis (Lawrenceville) was the squads second leading scorer icing 15 points. Davis went 4-for-7 from the floor and added an impressive 7-for-8 from the free-throw line. 

Rigsbee also doubled as the teams leading rebounder with seven. Davis and Brandon Thomas (McDonough) were the squad's second-leading rebounders with six rebounds apiece. 

The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Feb. 22 in the Centennial Center to take on Flagler College for senior night. Live stat and broadcast links for both the senior night festivities and the game will be available at GCBobcats.com with tipoff coming at 7:30 p.m.
