AUGUSTA, Ga.- Georgia College & State University Men's Basketball (7-14, 3-9 PBC) took a tough 86-61 loss to No. 14 Augusta University (19-3, 10-2 PBC), Saturday afternoon.

The first half was a rough 20 minutes for the Bobcats as the Jaguars put up 55 points. Austin Sloan (Warner Robins) put GCSU in front of AU for a brief time after nailing a three-point jumper. The Jaguars countered with a three-pointer of their own and reclaimed a lead they would never surrender. The second half was in the Bobcats' favor as the offense outscored Augusta 34-31. Despite a great second half on both sides of the ball for GCSU, the Jaguars pulled out the 86-61 win.

The Bobcat offense put up 61 points in great part to the three double-digit scorers on the afternoon. Ian Davis (Lawrenceville) led the charge tying his career high of 15 points. Davis did most of his damage from the free-throw line as he went a stunning 9-for-10 from the line. Davis added two baskets from behind the arc as well as four assists to round out an impressive offensive performance. Brendan Rigsbee (Suwanee) and Sloan rounded out the double-digit scoring with 11 points respectively. Rigsbee went 4-for-9 from the floor including a three-point bucket. Sloan did most of his damage from behind the arc netting three three-point baskets.

On the rebounding side of things for GCSU Rigsbee missed the double-double mark by a single rebound as he nabbed nine in the contest. He nabbed six of his nine under the Jaguar basket. AJ James (Bowman) was the squad's second-leading rebounder with eight. James split his rebounds with four coming under each basket.

The Bobcats will return to the Centennial Center on Wednesday, Feb. 8 to take on USC Aiken. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. with live stats and broadcast links available at GCBobcats.com
