Box Score

NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Georgia College & State University Baseball team (15-20) couldn't hold the potent No. 16 Newberry College (32-6) offense in check Wednesday, dropping a 13-2 game on the road.

The Wolves had a pair of four-run innings and another three-run frame to sprint away from the Bobcats. GCSU plated their runs on an RBI single from Ben Tuten (Bristol, Georgia) and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Baylin Moore (Albany, Georgia).

The Bobcats sent eight pitchers to the mound, most starting a new inning. Lefty reliever Reid Robertson (Marietta, Georgia) took the loss, working the four-run second. He falls to 0-1 on the year.

Bobcats that worked scoreless frames today were starter Caden Tillman (Hamilton, Georgia), freshman righty John Luke Glanton (Metter, Georgia), and sophomore righty Aidan McConnell (Roswell, Georgia).

GCSU managed eight hits, with second baseman Gabriel Weurth (Woodstock, Georgia) going 3-for-5. Third baseman Tuten finished with another strong game, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, April 15, at 2 p.m., playing a doubleheader at Claflin University.
