MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- Georgia College & State University Softball (23-19, 9-12 PBC) took a tough 4-1 loss in the Sunday contest with No. 1 University of North Georgia (44-4, 22-2).
GCSU plated a single run on four hits. The lone run for the Bobcats was driven in on an infield single by Stephanie Condland (Hoscton) to bring around Mackenzie Martin (Dacula) who reached via the walk.
MacKenzie Hoffman (Rocky Face) was the lone Bobcat to have multiple hits on the say as she went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and a stolen base.
Shelby Jones (Kissimmee, Florida) picked up the start and the loss in the circle for GCSU. Jones (9-8) only allowed two earned runs on four hits in four and two-thirds innings of work. Jana Shellhorse (McDonough) closed the game for the Bobcats only allowing one earned run in 1.1 innings of work with a strikeout.
