MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College & State University Baseball team (19-21, 16-10 PBC) used a walk-off home run from Brandon Bellflower (Milledgeville) to draw the series even with Peach Belt Conference (PBC) leader USC Aiken (28-17, 19-7 PBC) in a 2-1 Bobcat victory Saturday at John Kurtz Field.

A masterful pitchers' duel for the majority of the contest, USC Aiken scratched across a run in the third with two out, when Jose Hernandez doubled and Josh Sharp followed with a triple to right center.

Bobcat righty Trey Felt (Lawrenceville) held the Pacers scoreless in the rest of his effort, totaling eight innings with just a single run on six hits and not a single walk. He fanned six batters. Pacer righty Joel Haney was equal to the challenge, going 7 2/3 innings scoreless with just five hits, two walks and five whiffs.

Down 1-0 into the bottom of the ninth, third baseman Ben Tuten (Bristol) led off with a single up the middle. After a pickoff attempt to first, the initial delivery to Bellflower was lifted over the right center fence for the walk-off 2-1 victory.

Righty reliever John Raines (Powder Springs) got the victory in his one inning of work, allowing a pair of hits with a strikeout, improving to 2-2.

The win puts GCSU at 16-10 in PBC play, tied for third in the league standings. The Bobcats have four conference games remaining.

The Bobcats and Pacers wrap up the PBC series with a single game tomorrow, April 23 at 1 p.m.
