DAHLONEGA, Ga.- Georgia College & State University Men's Basketball suffer 92-82 loss to No. 7 University of North Georgia.
GCSU fell to 7-6 on the season and 0-3 in the Peach Belt Conference. UNG improved to 12-1 and 3-0 in the conference. Georgia College returns to the the Centennial Center Saturday, Jan. 13 to take on Flagler College at 3:30 p.m.
The Bobcats had some sharpshooters on the night despite the loss including two surpassing 20 points.
Brendan Rigsbee led the scoring effort with 23 points shooting 75 percent from both three point range and from the free throw line. He also picked up his season high in assists with five.
Richard Crawford III iced his season high of 21 points as the team's second leading scorer. Crawford shot 50 percent from the floor and from long range while adding a perfect 3-for-3 performance from the free throw line. He was also the second assist leader with four.
Ian Davis rounded out the double figure scorers with 13 points going 4-for-4 from the free throw stripe.
Rigsbee had a dynamic performance as he also lead the rebounded effort for the Bobcats with seven. He corralled five under the Nighthawk bucket to prevent second chance points.
Austin Sloan and
AJ James both had five rebounds good for the second most on the team. All of Sloan's rebounds came on the defensive side of the ball while only three of James's did.
