Bobcats take tough home loss 97-83

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | The Georgia College & State University men's basketball team fell at 97-83 at home to the University of South Carolina-Beaufort Wednesday (Jan. 17) evening at the Centennial Center.

GCSU fell to 7-8 on the season and 0-5 in the Peach Belt Conference. USCB improved to 9-4 and 2-3 in the conference. The Bobcats are back in action Saturday (Jan. 20) at 3:30 p.m. on the road in Greenwood, South Carolina, against No. 17 Lander University. 

Brendan Rigsbee had the hot hand as the team's leading scorer, icing 24 points. He went 8-for-14 from the floor including a perfect 3-for-3 from long range. Richard Crawford III had the second most points on the evening with 16 while having two of his five buckets coming from behind the three point line. AJ James and Austin Sloan rounded out the leading scorers with 12 and 11 points, respectively. James had five field goals and Sloan had three. Rigsbee also led the team in with five. 

Sloan and Rigsbee led the team in boards as they both nabbed six. Sloan had five on the defensive side of the ball while Rigsbee had four. Crawford was one behind the leaders as he picked up five with four coming under the USCB basket.
