MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | The Peach Belt Conference preseason coaches poll for baseball has been released.
Georgia College & State University has been picked to finish sixth in the league.
Georgia Southwestern State University was top choice in the poll of head coaches with 80points, while Columbus State University was next at 68. The University of South Carolina-Aiken was third with 26 points and was followed by Lander University and the University of North Georgia in fourth place with 51 points each. GCSU (47) was picked sixth and was followed by Augusta University (33), Flagler College (27), University of South Carolina-Beaufort (16) and Claflin University (10). Georgia Southwestern captured its first PBC regular-season championship and conference tournament titles last year, reaching the NCAA Tournament for the first time.
The Bobcats finished the 2023 season with a 22-25 overall record and finished sixth in the Peach Belt with an 18-12 ledger.
GCSU opens its 2024 campaign Feb. 2 as they face Tuskegee University in a three-game set at John Kurtz Field. First pitch is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start.
