AUGUSTA, Ga. | The Georgia College & State University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Saturday (Oct. 12) afternoon at the Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The Bobcats started the day with a Peach Belt Conference match against host Augusta University. The Jaguars won in straight sets 25-18, 25-18 and 25-18 before Shaw University defeated the Bobcats in four sets - 26-24, 25-17, 25-27 and 25-21
The Bobcats fell to 7-10 overall and to 0-3 in the Peach Belt. GCSU returns to action Friday (Oct. 18) with a 3 p.m. PBC match in St. Augustine, Florida, against Flagler College.
Sarah Pipping,
Camryn Carlton and
Brooke Roberts each led the Bobcats with four kills each against the Jaguars, while
Sadie Parkerson had 10 assists and
Riese Johnson added six. Parkerson contributed 16 digs and
Alanis Bernis posted 15 more.
Hayley Shepherd and Pipping each had two total blocks.Â
Against the Bears, Carlton led the Bobcats with nine kills, while Roberts had six. Carlton led the way with seven total blocks, while Roberts added six more. Parkerson tallied 14 assists, while Johnson posted 10. Bernis paced GCSU with 21 digs, while Parkerson registered nine.
