Cail, Willis lead GCSU past Emmanuel (Ga.) 64-54

Box Score DAHLONEGA, Ga. | Hannah Cail and Ashyia Willis eached scored 15 points to lead the Georgia College & State University women's basketball team to a 64-54 victory over Emmanuel (Ga.) University Saturday (Nov. 9) afternoon at the Lynn Cottrell Arena at the UNG Convocation Center on the University of North Georgia campus.

The Bobcats improved to 2-0, while the Lions fell to 0-2. GCSU returns to action Wednesday (Nov. 13) with a 7 p.m. contest against Erskine College in Due West, South Carolina.

Emmanuel led 35-32 at the half, but the Bobcats took control in the third quarter when they outscored the Lions 23-6 to open up a 55-41 advantage. GCSU took the lead for good at 42-41 after Cierra Foster hit a free throw with 2:41 to play, That free throw was part of 18 unanswered points by the Bobcats over the final 4:53 of the third quarter. 

The Lions got as close as six points (57-51) late in the fourth quarter.

Evie DePetro also finished in double figures with 10 points. Miracle Parker and Cam James each led the Bobcats with six rebounds, while Jada Warren blocked four shots and pulled down five rebounds. Cail also added four assists.
