AUGUSTA, Ga. | Georgia College & State University baseball's
Mason Poole has been named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week ending March 10.
Poole was the catalyst for GCSU's sweep of the University of South Carolina-Beaufort over the weekend, hitting .643 (9-of-14) with a .714 slugging percentage. The junior infielder from Covington, Georgia, had multiple hits in all three games, including a 4-for-5 effort in the opener with two runs scored and an RBI. He was 3-for-4 in game two with a double and two more RBI and 2-for-5 in the finale, driving in another. He scored five runs on the week, did not strike out and made no errors in 14 chances at second base. Poole is hitting .373 on the season with two home runs and 14 RBI.
The Bobcats return to action Tuesday (March 12) when they travel to Newberry, South Carolina, for a 5 p.m. game against Newberry College.
