SALISBURY, N.C. | Georgia College & State University is ranked 10th in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association NCAA Division II Southeast regional rankings.

The Bobcats, who are 15-11 overall, are making their first appearance in the poll this season.

Georgia College moved into the rankings after taking two of three games from Georgia Southwestern State University last weekend. The Bobcats, who received eight votes, are 5-3 this season against teams currently ranked in the region. Besides taking two from the Hurricanes, the Bobcats also have two wins against University of North Georgia and a win against No. 5 University of Mount Olive.

North Greenville University is No. 1 in the region with 82 points with Young Harris College a point behind in second. UNG (64) is third and is followed by the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (52), Mount Olive (50), Barton College (48), Catawba College (43), Georgia Southwestern State (30), Lincoln Memorial University (22), GCSU (8) and Lander University (8).

The Bobcats return to action Friday (March 22) when they host Flagler College in a 6 p.m. PBC contest at John Kurtz Field.

The NCBWA poll is for publicity purposes only and is not used in the selection process for the NCAA Division II postseason.
