Two Bobcats named to CSC Academic All-District® team

AUSTIN, Texas | Georgia College & State University had two student-athletes - Aidan Kudlas and Brady Spence - named to the College Sports Communicators NCAA Divsion II Men's Basketball Academic All-District® Team. 

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must have either played in 90 percent of their team's games or started in 66 percent of their contests.

Kudlas, a redshirt freshman guard from Dawsonville, Georgia, earned his name on the list with a 4.00  cumulative grade-point average as a biology major. Kudlas played in all 30 games for the Bobcats, starting 15. He  averaged 4.3 points and 2.2 rebounds this season. He shot .459 (50-of-109) from the floor which dishing out 37 assists and had 16 steals to go along with three blocked shots. Kudlas had a career-high 11 points in a win against Georgia Southwestern State University.

Spence, a graduate student from Villa Rica, Georgia, has posted a 3.66 GPA as a management information system major. In 29 starts, he averaged 8.8 points and 7.1 rebounds. He shot .639 percent (99-of-155) from the field and .730 (54-of-74) from the free throw line. He also distributed 48 assists and blocked 46 shots. 

Spence, who was named a Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week during the season, is ranked 34th in NCAA Division II in blocked shots per game (1.59) and 38th in blocked shots.

The Bobcats finished their 2023 season with a 15-15 ledger and advanced to the semifinals of the Peach Belt Tournament.

The Division II CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects of the 2023-24 program.
