AIKEN, S.C.- Georgia College & State University Men's Basketball closed the 2023-24 season in the Peach Belt Conference Semifinals in 76-64 loss to Flagler College.
GCSU concluded the season 15-15 overall and 7-11 in conference play. Flagler advances to the conference finals with 19-10 overall record and a 11-7 conference record.
The Bobcats and the Saints went into the half neck and neck with the Saints leading by a single point, 30-29. A big second half gave Flagler the lead as they outscored GSCU 46-35 and took the contest 76-64.
Austin Sloan closed out the season as the team's leading scorer on 15 points. Sloan knocked down five field goals including three from behind the arc.
Luke Chism was right behind Sloan with 14 points coming on five from the field and three from long range. The PBC second teamer,
Brendan Rigsbee, capped off the double digit scorers with 13 points on four buckets including two, three-point baskets.
Sloan doubled as the team's leading rebounder nabbing five all of which came under the Saints bucket. Chism had the second most with four and three coming on the defensive side of the ball.
Aidan Kudlas and Rigsbee rounded out the rebound leaders with three boards. each. All of Kudlas' rebounds came on offense with all of Rigsbee's coming on defense.
