AUGUSTA, Ga. | Georgia College & State University will host Flagler College later this week in the Peach Belt Conference Baseball Championship Series.
The second-seeded Bobcats (32-20) and the fifth-seeded Saints (29-22) each won their opening round bracket to advance to the best-of-three championship series at John Kurtz Field, on the GCSU campus. The winner of the PBC Championship Series will earn the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
First pitch for game one is set for 6 p.m. Thursday (May 9) with game two scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday (May 10). If a deciding third game is necessary it will be 45 minutes affter the completion of game two..
GCSU will be making its ninth appearance in a PBC Tournament baseball final. The Bobcats dropped PBC title games in 1994, 1995, 1997 and 2006 before claiming tournament titles in 2013 (University of Montevallo 3-2), 2015 (Armstrong State University 10-6), 2017 (University of North Carolina at Pembroke 6-5) and 2018 (University of South Carolina-Aiken 7-5). This will be the first appearance for Georgia College since the tournament title went to a best-of-three format.
The Bobcats swept the regular-season series with the Saints in 2024, winning the three games played in mid-March in Milledgeville. GCSU leads the all-time series with Flagler 26-21, with the Bobcats holding a 12-3 lead in games played at John Kurtz Field since 2013. GCSU has won the only meeting between the two teams in the PBC Tournament with a 14-0 decision in seven innings at the 2017 tournament in Florence, South Carolina.
