FLORENCE, S.C. | The Georgia College & State University volleyball team took down Francis Marion University in five sets Friday (Sept. 20) evening at the Pearl Moore Basketball Center.
The Bobcats dropped the first set 25-21 before taking the next two by scores of 25-15 and 25-17. The Patriots tied the match at 2 with a 25-17 victory in set four before GCSU took the decisive set 15-12. It was the third time the Bobcats have gone to five sets this season and won each of the matches.
GCSU improved to 4-5, while the Patriots fell to 1-7. The Bobcats will face Newberry College in a noon match Saturday (Sept. 21) on the FMU campus.
Camryn Carlton led the Bobcats with 15 kills, while
Sarah Pipping had 13 and
Rosa Fisher tallied 10.
Sadie Parkerson distributed 31 assists, while
Lexi Baum recorded 16.
Alanis Bernis had 18 digs, while
Ella Harper (15) and Pipping (12) finished in double figures. Baum also collected four service aces.
