MACON, Ga. | Eight Georgia College & State University women's cross country runners finished inside the top 25 as the Bobcats came in second place Saturday (Sept. 21) morning at the Julius Johnson Invitational.
The Bobcats finished with 59 points, while Mercer University won the 14-team meet with a perfect score of 15.
Lauren Thisdale was the top Georgia College runner with a time of 18:43.48 on the 5K loop on the Georgia Premier Cross Country Course. Four more Bobcats finished inside the the top 20.
Lorena Cazora placed 14th with a time of 19:10.19, while
Anna Agi (16th, 19:17.51),
Jada Warren (18th, 19:26:43) and
Haven Bejnerowicz (19th, 19:28.68) were the other racers.
Abbie Brown was just outside the top 20 as she came in 21st place with a time of 19:32.40 and was followed by
Eva Jeswald (23rd, 20:01.94),
Jillian Muncus (24th, 20:03.03),
Emily Wright (29th, 20:19.63),
Kylee Geveke (35th, 20:40.36),
Maddie Reese Smith (36th, 20:46.85),
Campbell Smith (39th, 21:26.73),
Emma Jow (40th, 21:27.72),
Anna Lavoie (42nd, 21:32.89), and
Lauren Hailey (47th, 21:44.08).
GCSU returns to action next Saturday (Sept. 28) when they host the Bobcat Invitational at 9 a.m. at the Council Farms Cross Country Course.
