GCSU finishes in second place at Bobcat Invitational

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | The Georgia College & State University women's cross country team finished in second place in the Bobcat Invitational held Saturday (Sept. 28) morning at the Council Farms Cross Country Course.

The Bobcats, which had three runners inside the top 10, finished with 45 points. Peach Belt Conferene-foe Flagler College won the event with 18 points.

Lorena Cazora led the GCSU contingent with a fourth-place finish on the 5K course with a time of 20:10.9, while Lauren Thisdale was in sixth with a time of 20:17.2. Anna Agi rounded out the top 10 with an eighth-place time of 20:21.8. 

Jillian Muncus, Eva Jeswald and Emily Wright all finished inside the top 20 for the Bobcats. Muncus was 16th with a time of 21:02.6, Jeswald was 17th at 21:06.6, while Wright was 20th at 21:21.5. Abbie Brown came in 21st place at 21:23.2 and was followed by Kylee Geveke (26th, 21:54.4), Haven Bejnerowicz (28th, 22:05.7), Maddie Reese Smith (29th, 22:18.2), Campbell Smith (30th, 22:21.8), Emma Jow (39th, 23:14.2), Anna Lavoie (40th, 23:21.4) and Lauren Hailey (45th, 24:03.4).

The Bobcats return to the course Oct. 11 at 3:30 p.m. when they travel to Charlotte, North Carolina, to take part in the Royals Cross Country Challenge.
