MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | The spring season for the Georgia College & State University gets underway Friday (Jan. 31).
The baseball team, which is ranked No. 13 nationally, will open their season with a three-game set in Tampa, Florida, against No. 1 and defending NCAA Division II national champions University of Tampa Friday (Jan. 31) at 6 p.m. The Bobcats and Spartans will faceoff again at 2 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 1) before closing out the series at noon Sunday (Feb. 2). GCSU will open its home portion of the schedule at John Kurtz Field Tuesday (Feb. 4) against Southern Wesleyan University at 5 p.m.
The softball team will have to wait an extra day to open their campaign under new head coach

GCSU was to have opened up its season Friday (Jan. 31) at Young Harris College; however, rain is expected in the Enchanted Valley so the Bobcats and Mountain Lions will now meet in a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday (Feb. 1) in Young Harris, Georgia. GCSU will make its debut at the Bobcat Softball Field Wednesday (Feb. 5) with a 2 p.m. doubleheader against Francis Marion University.
The men's tennis team will open their 2025 season Saturday (Feb. 1) morning when the Bobcats entertain Morehouse College in an 11 a.m. match at the Centennial Center Tennis Courts, while the Bobcats will open their women's tennis campaign Wednesday (Feb. 5) at home against Newberry College.
The men's golf team will resume their 2024-25 season under the leadership of newly-minted coach
Ben English Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 3-4) as the Bobcats travel to Greenville, South Carolina, to compete in the Bearcat Spring Invitational hosted by Lander University. The tournament, which is being played at The Preserve at Verdae, was postponed in the fall due to Hurricane Helene.
GCSU will begin the second time through its Peach Belt Coference schedule Saturday (Feb. 1) when the Bobcats host the University of South Carolina-Aiken in a doubleheader inside the Centennial Center. The women's game between GCSU and the Pacers will tip at 1:30 p.m. followed by the men's contest at approximately 3:30 p.m.
