Shipley Smith has been named the Zaxbys Player of the Week ending Oct. 26.
Shipley, a sophomore from Kennesaw, Georgia, led the Bobcats to their third-place finish at the Peach Belt Conference Championship Saturday (Oct. 25) that was held at the Bobcat Cross Country Course. Smith was the top GCSU runner with a 8K time of 25:41.0 and came in 16th place, one spot shy of earning all-conference accolades.
GCSU returns to action Nov. 8 as the Bobcats compete in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championship meet in Wingate, North Carolina, at 11:15 a.m.
