CLEMSON, S.C. | No. 4 University of North Georgia defeated No. 29 Georgia College & State University 4-0 in the opening round of the 2025 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional No. 2 Monday (May 12) afternoon at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility on the Clemson University campus.
The season comes to the close for the Bobcats, who were making their 26th appearance in the NCAA tournament. GCSU, which was seeded seventh in the regional, finished the 2025 season at 15-7, while the Nighthawks, who are the No. 2 seed, improved to 19-6.
UNG won the two completed matches in doubles to take a 1-0 lead. The Nighthawks then won the first three completed singles matches to earn the 4-0 win.
GCSU was leading in two of the three unfinished singles matches.
Jada Young was leading 7-5, 4-3 for the Bobcats at No. 2, while
Rachel Black was holding a 6-4, 5-2 lead at No. 4 when the match was called.
