NEW ORLEANS, La. | The Georgia College & State University women's cross country team remained ninth in the sixth weekly U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division II Southeast Regional poll of the season.
Regional rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strength with current season results (if applicable) in determining a rank-order of squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. Teams with provisional status within the region may be ranked.
GCSU is one of three Peach Belt Conference institutions inside the top 10. Augusta University is ranked third followed by Flagler College (fourth) and GCSU.
The Bobcats finished in 19th place out of 38 teams at the UAH Chargers Cross Country Invitational last Saturday (Oct. 24) in Huntsville, Alabama.
GCSU returns to action Nov. 7 when they compete at the Peach Belt Conference Championship in Macon, Georgia. The meet will be held at the Georgia Premier Cross Country Course at 10:15 a.m.
