NEW ORLEANS, La. | The Georgia College & State University women's cross country team fell to ninth in the fourth weekly U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division II Southeast Regional poll of the season.

Regional rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strength with current season results (if applicable) in determining a rank-order of squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. Teams with provisional status within the region may be ranked.

GCSU is one of three Peach Belt Conference institutions inside the top 10. Flagler College is ranked fifth followed Augusta University (sixth) and GCSU.

The Bobcats won their Bobcat Invitational presented by Chic-fil-A of Middle Georgia last Friday (Oct. 9) for their 19th team title in program history. GCSU runners had eight of the top 10 times in the meet.

GCSU returns to action Oct. 24 when the compete at the UAH Chargers Cross Country Invitational in Huntsville, Alabama, at 8:50 a.m. Central time.
