MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Southern Wesleyan University corralled 13 hits en route to a 12-1 non-conference victory in seven innings over Georgia College & State University Wednesday (Feb. 18) afternoon at John Kurtz Field.
The Warriors improved to 2-8, while the Bobcats fell to 1-10. GCSU opens a Peach Belt Conference series against Georgia Southwestern State University Friday (Feb. 20) at 6 p.m. in Americus, Georgia.
Southern Wesleyan, which had seven extra-base hits out of 13 they posted, scored six runs in the first inning and never looked back. GCSU got its run in the seventh on a
Carson Vick RBI single.
Nick Bennett (0-2) took the loss for the Bobcats, while Lukas Arvantides (1-3) earned the complete-game victory for the Warriors.
Carson Phillips led GCSU with two hits, while
Luke Daddona, Vick,
Luke Boone,
James Beaver and
Rand Bestermann each collected a hit.
