BLUFFTON, S.C. | The University of South Carolina-Beaufort shot 71.4 percent in the second half as the Sand Sharks pulled away from Georgia College & State University 100-57 in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game at The Cove.
The Sand Sharks improved to 16-5 overall and to 10-3 in the league, while the Bobcats sank to 13-8 and 8-5. GCSU returns to the Centennial Center Saturday (Feb. 7) at 3:30 p.m. where they will host Augusta University in a PBC contest.
USC Beaufort led wire-to-wire and led 35-16 at the half as GCSU only connected on five field goals in the opening 20 minutes and the Sand Sharks made 25-of-35 shots from the field.
Devin McClain led the Bobcats with 13 points, while
C.J. Jones and
Cam James added nine points apiece.
Tony Carpio led GCSU with eight rebounds, while
Oscar Lynch and
Conyer Smith had six rebounds each.
